This guide explains how the consultation process works, what information we need before your visit, and how you can help us make the consultation more useful for you.
1. How will my appointment be coordinated?
Once you contact the clinic/hospital, your details will be taken and you will be contacted by one of the surgeons from Dr. Shrikhande’s team for appointment scheduling. You may be asked to upload your records through a secure form or share them via WhatsApp. Any doubts you have can be addressed via WhatsApp messages. Kindly refrain from calling the doctors.

Is my appointment confirmed?
Yes. Once scheduled your appointment is considered confirmed. Any unavoidable changes will be communicated.
2. Where will my appointment be?
Dr. Shrikhande consults at different locations depending on his schedule.

3. What information should I submit before my appointment?
Please send via WhatsApp or upload on the following Google form, all available consultation notes, blood reports, tumour markers, CT/MRI/PET-CT reports, biopsy reports, discharge summaries, chemotherapy/radiotherapy details and operative notes.
Also provide:
- Patient’s name,
- Age / Date of birth
- City
- Present symptoms
- Medical Illnesses
- Previous surgeries
- Family history of cancer
- Referring doctor
- Previous chemotherapy (drug names and cycles)
- Previous radiotherapy (site and duration)
- Any other treatment received
- Current clinical condition
4. What should I bring with me?
- Please bring previous medical records arranged time-wise, in chronological order.
- Please also carry the original CDs of all imaging studies, including: CT Scan, MRI, PETCT.
- Kindly submit these CDs to the CT Department on the Ground Floor of Gleneagles Hospital before your consultation.
- No appointment or token number is required. Simply request the CT Department staff to upload your CDs into the hospital system.
- Regardless of the location of your consultation, all CDs must be submitted at Gleneagles Hospital.
5. What should I do if my biopsy was performed elsewhere?
Please collect your Histopathology slides and /or Paraffin blocks. You may be asked to submit them for review. In which case please submit them to:

6. Who is part of Dr. Shrikhande’s team?
One of the team members will review your records or contact you before your consultation.
7. What happens during my consultation?
Every patient is first evaluated by one of Dr.
Shrikhande’s consultant surgeons, who will obtain a
detailed history, perform an examination, review
investigations and prepare a clinical summary. Dr.
Shrikhande will then personally review and discuss the
treatment plan.
8. Should the patient come personally?
Yes, wherever possible. Family members may discuss reports, but the patient may still need examination before treatment is finalized, particularly if surgery is being considered.
9. What happens after the consultation?
You will receive a consultation summary, prescription, investigation requests if required, a follow-up plan, and where appropriate, an admission or surgery plan with detailed preoperative instructions including fitness evaluation, anesthesia assessment, medication advice, fasting instructions, and required investigations. Please refer to this document carefully and ensure that all recommended investigations are completed before your next consultation.

How should I send new reports?
Share them with the doctor already communicating with you. If discussion is required, a follow-up consultation may be advised.
Why might replies take time?
Our team balances surgeries, ward rounds, emergencies, and clinics while caring for many patients. Your patience allows us to provide thoughtful care to every patient. While we make every effort to respond as promptly as possible, immediate replies are not always feasible.
What if I have questions?
Please send one comprehensive WhatsApp message. Most replies are provided within 24– 48 hours. Kindly avoid calling the doctors.

While every effort is made to keep waiting times to a minimum, accurately predicting clinic timings can sometimes be challenging because of Dr. Shrikhande’s responsibilities in the operating theatre and his commitments at the Tata Cancer Care Foundation.
